12-Year-Old Boy Robbed at Blackbird Leys Sports Ground

A 12-year-old boy was targeted in broad daylight at Sandy Lane Sports Ground, Blackbird Leys, on Friday morning at 8.20am.

Thief Snatches Phone After Grabbing Boy’s Arms

An unknown man suddenly grabbed the boy’s arms and slipped his hand into the boy’s pocket, stealing his mobile phone. Thankfully, the victim escaped unharmed.

Suspect Description and Outfit

  • White male, about 5ft 8 to 5ft 9, early to mid-20s
  • Wore a black zipped coat with a furry hood up
  • Light white/grey hoodie underneath
  • Blue gloves, black jeans, black Nike trainers
  • Plain black face mask covering his face

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Constable Rebecca Nightingale urged the public to come forward. She said:

“I am appealing for witnesses to this robbery against a 12-year-old boy. It was terrifying for the victim, but thankfully he wasn’t hurt. We are investigating thoroughly and want to speak to anyone who saw what happened or recognises this man.”
