Serial Shoplifter Busted After Raiding Three Swindon Stores
Martin Morgan, 35, from Whitworth Road, Swindon, has pleaded guilty to stealing from three different shops in the town. The court heard how Morgan pilfered booze and beauty products over a week-long spree.
The Theft Spree
- On 11 November, Morgan snuck into the Co-Op on Cricklade Road and grabbed a bottle of alcohol.
- Two days later, he hit Boots in the town centre, swiping multiple skin care products.
- On 18 November, he struck again at Marks & Spencer on Regent Street, nicking several bottles of alcohol.
Police Crackdown: Tough Sentence for Repeat Offender
After Morgan was sentenced, PC Paul Bezzant from the Neighbourhood Policing Team slammed the thief’s actions. He said: “This is a good result as this man is a prolific offender causing no end of problems for hard working people and businesses in the town.”
“He has only recently come out of prison but obviously has not learnt his lesson. Hopefully these 18 weeks will give him time to reflect and will allow businesses, already hit by the current lockdown, some respite from his actions.”
