Knife-Wielding Thief Makes Daring Escape with Cash Boxes
A knife-wielding man threatened two female shop staff before fleeing with two cash boxes from a Market Street store around 6pm on Wednesday, February 10.
Staff Left Shaken but Unharmed
Thankfully, no one was physically injured, but the victims were left visibly shaken by the terrifying ordeal. The suspect sped off on a pedal bike, making a swift getaway.
Police Launch Urgent Hunt for Armed Robber
Detective Inspector Leanne Hobin urged anyone who recognises the man pictured to come forward. She said, “We’d like to speak to the man pictured as he may hold vital information. These victims were left extremely shaken, and we need to prevent knife crime hurting others.”
She added, “If you were near Market Street on February 10 and saw anything suspicious, please contact us. We’re working hard to educate the public, make arrests, and seize weapons to keep everyone safe.”
