Farm Worker Arrested Over Toddington Girl Abduction Attempt
Police sprung into action after a young girl was nearly snatched in Toddington on 23 August. The hunt led to the arrest of Florin Marin, 35, a farm worker from Potters Mead, Littlehampton, who was caught by vigilant locals the very next day.
Charged with Shocking Child Sex Offences
Marin now faces multiple charges: kidnap and attempted sexual assault of a child from the Toddington incident, plus exposure and engaging in sexual activity in front of a child linked to a separate case in Littlehampton on 1 August.
Community Cheers Police and Public for Swift Action
Marin remains behind bars, set to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 30 August.
“This was a serious incident. I know that this will have caused concern amongst many in the local community,” said Chief Inspector Jon Carter, Arun and Chichester District Commander.
“I’m grateful to those who supported the investigation and especially to those who detained the suspect. These incidents are thankfully rare, but Sussex Police will keep working hard with partners and communities to keep people safe.”
