Machete Gang Raid Home at Dawn – Victims Fight Back, Thugs Flee Empty-Handed
Armed Gang Storm Brookscroft Road Home
At around 5am on Thursday, 1 April, eight men armed with machetes broke into a residential property on Brookscroft Road. They threatened four people inside and demanded valuables.
But the victims fought back, forcing the machete-wielding gang to flee empty-handed.
Injuries and Investigation Underway
During the struggle, two victims suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital and later discharged. Police arrived quickly, carrying out forensic examinations and gathering CCTV footage along with victim statements.
Linked Burglary in Clacton-on-Sea
Officers connected the attack to a separate aggravated burglary at a nightclub in Clacton-on-Sea on the same night. The Met Police have stepped in to investigate both crimes.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
PC David Havard, from the Waltham Forest burglary and robbery team, said: “This was a terrifying experience for the family involved and we are committed to tracking down those who carried out this awful crime.”
“We are now releasing images of three men we want to speak to. If you recognise them, please contact police immediately.”
