Police believe two crimes in Great Chart on the evening of May 5, 2022, are connected. Both incidents happened within 30 minutes, sparking fears of a brazen robber on the loose.

A man in his 20s was strolling along Chart Road near the playing fields when a hooded figure demanded his phone. The victim refused, forcing the suspect to flee empty-handed.

Jogger Threatened with Barbecue Fork Weapon

Minutes later, two women jogging on Tithe Barn Lane, Singleton, faced a chilling encounter. One was threatened by a slim white man, 17 to 22 years old, about 5ft 9in tall. Wearing a black tracksuit with red stripes and a balaclava, he brandished what looked like a BBQ fork. The terrified woman handed over her phone before he vanished towards the Singleton Road underpass.
