Tragic Crash on A11: Two Dead After Horror Three-Vehicle Smash

Fatal Collision Shuts Down A11

Police rushed to the scene at 12.10pm on Monday, 30 May, after reports of a three-vehicle crash on the southbound A11 between Elveden and Barton Mills. The smash involved a white Maxus flatbed, a red Range Rover Sport, and a Scania lorry.

Two Dead at the Scene

Emergency crews including ambulance and Suffolk Fire and Rescue battled the chaos. Sadly, the driver and passenger of the Maxus flatbed were pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the collision is under investigation.

A11 Remains Partially Closed

Both directions were initially shut down. The northbound carriageway reopened around 6pm. However, the southbound side is still closed, with diversions in place as officers continue their work.

Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Police urge anyone who witnessed the crash or was driving nearby to check dashcam footage and come forward. If you have information, contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit quoting reference 33220/22.
