Teen Stabbed in Shocking Park Attack in Newton-le-Willows
Merseyside Police are hunting two knife-wielding thugs after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in a Newton-le-Willows park on Monday night.
At around 9.40pm, emergency services were called to The Dingle, a park off Earle Street, following reports of a brutal assault.
Attackers Flee Scene on Electric Bike
The victim was set upon by two unknown males, aged 18-19, slim and about six feet tall, dressed all in dark clothing. The pair plunged a knife into the teenager’s arm before making a swift getaway on an electric bike.
The wounded teen was rushed to hospital and remains under medical care.
Police Launch Manhunt and Appeal for Witnesses
Officers have launched a full-scale investigation. They’re scouring CCTV, conducting door-to-door enquiries, and interviewing anyone nearby.
“This was an unprovoked attack on a completely innocent person,” said Detective Inspector Peter Rexwinkel. “We will not stand for this. We’re determined to catch those responsible.”
DI Rexwinkel also highlighted Merseyside Police’s commitment to stamping out knife crime through stop-and-search, land searches, warrants, and joint educational efforts targeting gangs and vulnerable youths.
