A white Seat car smashed into a pedestrian crossing the road near Isle of Sheppey’s Holiday Village at around 6pm on Tuesday, December 6th. The victim has been left with life-changing injuries, sparking a massive police response.
Chaos on Leysdown and Warden Bay Roads
Both Leysdown Road and Warden Bay Road remained shut for hours as crash scene investigators from Kent Roads Policing scoured the area for evidence. They carried out skid tests, and officers employed specialist scanning gear to take detailed images and measurements of the road and vehicle.
Frustrated drivers stuck in traffic abandoned their cars on the roadside, choosing to trek across fields just to get home. Meanwhile, crowds gathered at the edge of the police cordon, watching the grim scene unfold.

Among the wreckage, police spotted a lone blue trainer and a chocolate milkshake bottle lying abandoned in the middle of the road — haunting reminders of the crash’s severity.
