Beloved Rushmoor Fire Manager Arron Passes Away
Arron, a committed watch manager at Rushmoor Fire Station’s White Watch and on-call squad, has died, leaving a big hole in the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service family.
20 Years of Service Honoured
The 49-year-old hero was awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in November 2022 after two decades of dedicated firefighting in Hampshire. Arron lived in Aldershot with his wife Dawn, was a proud dad to three children, and a loving grandfather to two.
Tributes Pour In from Fire Chiefs
“Arron was a dedicated firefighter and a much-loved friend and colleague,” said Chief Fire Officer Neil Odin. “He organised countless station events and inspired young people as a Prince’s Trust team leader. We’ll all miss him dearly. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this heartbreaking time.”
“Arron was one of the good guys, always ready to help,” said Station Manager Simon Forster. “He was a vital part of Rushmoor, and his positive spirit will live on in our hearts.”
“Arron kept smiling through his illness and remained truly inspirational,” said Group Manager Ryan Thurman. “His legacy will live on with us all.”
A Life of Service and Support
Since joining in 2002, Arron served as both a wholetime and on-call watch manager and was among the first on-call support officers. He was also active in the community, leading Prince’s Trust teams and organising open days and charity car washes.
Our deepest sympathies go out to Arron’s family, friends, and colleagues during this profoundly sad time.
