Bassetlaw cops crack down on knife crime with multiple weapons seizures and arrests!
Stepped-Up Patrols Snag Hidden Blades
Bassetlaw neighbourhood policing officers have hit the streets hard, running daily patrols and specialist ops to keep the area safe. Recently, they caught a man smuggling a knife in his sleeve and seized a stash of suspected Class B drug, mamba.
Huge Dagger Found Stashed in Bushes
During a targeted knife crime operation in Worksop, the team uncovered a large dagger hidden in some grass and bushes. It was seized on the spot to stop it falling into the wrong hands.
Quick Work Nets More Knives and Arrests
The crackdown didn’t stop there. Officers also confiscated another knife while responding to a separate incident. Their swift actions have led to multiple arrests across the district.
Backing National Knife Crime Campaign
The police are now supporting the nationwide Operation Sceptre campaign, running from 15 May, highlighting efforts to slash knife crime.
“My officers throughout Bassetlaw have been working tirelessly to take dangerous weapons off the streets,” said Inspector Hayley Crawford, District Commander. “The use and possession of knives causes devastating harm not just to victims, but offenders and their communities too.
“We want Bassetlaw residents to know we’re out there, working every day to keep them safe. If you think you can carry knives and escape justice – think again. We will arrest and prosecute you.”
“Knives, weapons, and drugs have no place anywhere in Nottinghamshire.”
