Merseyside Police are hunting for witnesses after a serious smash involving an electric scooter and a car in Newton-Le-Willows left the scooter rider fighting for life.
Crash Details: Red Fiat Hits Scooter at Busy Junction
The collision happened just before 3pm on Tuesday, 10 October, at the junction of Market Street and Sankey Street. A red Fiat and a 49-year-old man on an electric scooter crashed in dramatic fashion. The rider suffered severe injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.
The Fiat driver, a 41-year-old woman, was unharmed and stayed at the scene. She is fully cooperating with police.
Police Appeal: Witnesses and Dashcam Owners Urged to Come Forward
“The rider is in critical condition,” said Sergeant Simon Duffy of the MATRIX Serious Collision Investigation Unit. “We’ve contacted his family and are supporting them during this difficult time.”
