Double Tragedy: Murder Probe Launched After Walthamstow House Fire
A murder investigation is underway after a devastating fire killed two people at a Forest Road home in Walthamstow. Firefighters rushed to the terraced house last Sunday, April 21st, following reports of flames engulfing the property.
Victims Found Dead at Scene
On arrival, crews found two individuals inside the burning home. Despite paramedics’ efforts, both were declared dead at the scene. Police have yet to identify the victims as they work to inform next of kin.
Blaze Rages Through Two-Storey Home
The fire swept through the two-storey, end-of-terrace property, posing a tough battle for firefighters who battled the flames into the early hours. Forensic teams have since scoured the scene, while detectives launched an urgent murder inquiry.
“We believe there may have been an incident outside the address before the fire started,” said Detective Chief Inspector Matt Webb. “I’m keen to hear from anyone who saw anything or has doorbell or dashcam footage.”
