Chobham Fire Station Redevelopment Hit by Environmental Snag
The eagerly awaited revamp of Chobham Fire Station has been pushed back to Spring 2025. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) revealed the delay after the Environment Agency flagged unexpected environmental concerns during planning. Surrey County Council’s Land and Property Team now faces extra work to address these issues.
Fire Chief Vows to Push Ahead Despite Setback
Chief Fire Officer Dan Quin expressed frustration over the surprise holdup but assured the public the team is dedicated to moving forward. “Our commitment to upgrading facilities for our firefighters and the Chobham community remains rock solid. We’re actively tackling the Environment Agency’s feedback to get this project back on track quickly,” Quin said.

Kevin Deanus, Cabinet Member for Fire and Rescue and Resilience, stressed the project’s importance to both operational efficiency and environmental standards. “This redevelopment is crucial not just for improving how we operate but also for building a modern, sustainable facility,” Deanus explained. He also thanked locals for their patience during the delay.
