Burglaries and Attempts Rock Hove
Burglars struck in the early hours of Saturday, December 14, targeting homes and sheds across multiple spots including Hove Park Villas, Westbourne Gardens, Hartington Villas, and Carlisle Road.
More break-ins followed, with new incidents reported on Monday, December 16, in Hartington Villas and on Tuesday, December 17, in Wilbury Avenue.
Police Crackdown Underway
Officers have boosted patrols across the neighbourhood to keep residents safe and spook off crooks. A police drone has also been deployed to hunt for clues and aid the investigation.
Detective Urges Vigilance and Info Sharing
“Burglary is an incredibly personal crime, and we appreciate the fear that incidents like these cause the community,” said Detective Inspector Rob Lewis, leading the probe.
“We’ve increased patrols across Hove and are working hard to catch those responsible.
“Please ensure all windows, especially vulnerable sash windows, and doors are locked tight—including sheds and outbuildings.
If you’ve seen or recorded anything suspicious, don’t hesitate. Contact police immediately. Your tip could be the breakthrough we need.”
