Northfleet Property Shut Down Again Over Antisocial Chaos

A troublesome property in Lawrance Square, Northfleet, will remain off-limits for another three months. Kent Police secured a court extension after locals reported ongoing antisocial behaviour, including drug misuse, intimidation, and noise disturbances.

Closure Order Extended Amid Persistent Problems

The property first faced a closure order in late 2024 following multiple complaints of criminal damage, threatening behaviour, and general disorder. After the initial three-month ban expired, Kent Police swiftly moved to magistrates on 18 February 2025 to keep the lockdown in place.

Only emergency services and local council workers are allowed access during the extended closure.

Police Crackdown Offers Community Reassurance

“Antisocial behaviour significantly impacts the local community, and we will do everything in our powers to put a stop to it. Those residing at the Lawrance Square address were warned about their actions and the consequences,” said Police Sergeant Steve Cole.

“I am pleased that the closure order has been extended while Gravesham Borough Council works to take full possession of the premises. This offers reassurance to residents and sends a clear message that antisocial behaviour will not be tolerated.”

Background to the Battle Against Disorder

Neighbourhood tensions soared after repeated reports of drug misuse, violent outbursts, and relentless noise disrupted local life. Residents voiced fears for their safety and the shattered peace of their community.

Since the closure began, locals have noticed a marked improvement in safety and quiet – a welcome relief after months of turmoil.

How You Can Help Fight Antisocial Behaviour

Kent Police and Gravesham Borough Council urge residents to keep reporting trouble spots to help clamp down on antisocial activities. Sergeant Cole stressed the importance of community support, saying:

“This action demonstrates the importance of community cooperation. We rely on residents to report concerns, and together we can take the necessary steps to keep our neighbourhoods safe and secure.”

If you witness or experience antisocial behaviour, call Kent Police on 101 or report it online. In an emergency, always dial 999.
