Calne Man Jailed for Sexual Assault in Home With Children Present
Adam Gregory, 32, from Finch Lane, Calne, was hit with a 12-month jail sentence after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting a woman in her own home. The shocking attack happened on October 2, 2023, while the victim’s children were inside the house.
Disturbing Incident Caught on Phone
The assault involved Gregory touching the woman inappropriately without her consent. Horrifyingly, the incident was recorded on the victim’s phone. Gregory appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on February 24, 2025, where he was sentenced and slapped with a 16-year restraining order.
He must also register with police under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for 10 years and pay a £187 surcharge.
Victim Speaks Out
“I was worried he was going to flip out because I was not giving him what he wanted. I was scared he would not give up.”
The victim’s brave statement painted a chilling picture of her fear during the attack.
Police Praise Victim’s Courage
Crime Investigator Amanda Southey condemned the assault, highlighting its lasting impact.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe, especially in their own home. Sexual assaults can shatter well-being and trust, making future relationships hard to build.
This attack happened right in her home with her children nearby. She couldn’t fight back or call for help, fearing to alarm her kids.
I want to thank the victim for her courage in reporting this crime and sticking with us through the process. The 16-year restraining order means she won’t face her attacker again until her children are grown.”
