Man Arrested After Fatal Hit-and-Run in West Wickham
A man is in custody following a deadly crash that killed a pedestrian in West Wickham just after midnight on Wednesday.
Fatal Crash on West Wickham High Street
Emergency services rushed to West Wickham High Street at 12:42am on March 13 after reports a man in his 50s was hit by a vehicle. Paramedics tried to save the victim, believed to have been in cardiac arrest, but he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Driver Arrested for Dangerous Driving and DUI
The driver, a man in his 30s, stayed at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence. He remains in police custody.
The victim’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
