Driver Busted on A45 with Revoked Licence and Untaxed Car
Police caught a driver red-handed on the A45 near Ryton Upon Dunsmore. The man was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Astra with a revoked licence and an untaxed vehicle.
ANPR Flags Untaxed Car
Officers stopped the Astra after Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) revealed the car hadn’t been taxed since September 2024. Further checks showed the driver’s licence had been revoked after racking up 10 penalty points within two years — all linked to a conviction for being drunk in charge of a vehicle.
Vehicle Seized, Driver Faces Court
The car was instantly seized under police powers. The driver now faces multiple driving offence charges in court.
“Driving without a valid licence is a serious offence. We will continue to take action to keep our roads safe. If you choose to drive illegally, expect your vehicle to be seized and to face prosecution,” said a police spokesperson.
Warning for New Drivers: Points Mean Trouble
Authorities remind new drivers about the strict rules under the New Drivers Act. Collect six or more points within two years and your licence is automatically revoked. The message is clear — drive safe or face the consequences.
