Predatory Pedophile Philip Blanch Gets Suspended Sentence for Historic Abuse

Philip Blanch, from Belaugh Avenue in Lowestoft, Suffolk, has been finally brought to justice for a series of sickening assaults that happened between 1975 and 1977. The victim, just 12 to 13 years old at the time, was groomed and abused by Blanch, who exploited the boy’s trust for his own twisted gain.

Blanch’s Shocking Record of Abuse

The court revealed Blanch’s horrific past includes 11 other sexual offences against young boys in the Runnymede borough dating back to the 1960s through the 1980s. In a 2014 Guildford Crown Court trial, he was found guilty of six counts of sexual assault and indecent assault, landing him a 40-month prison sentence and a lifetime spot on the Sexual Offenders Register.

Suspended Sentence and Strict Curfew

Despite the gravity of his crimes, Blanch was sentenced recently to 24 months for each count, to be served concurrently, but the sentence was suspended for 24 months. He must also abide by a strict electronically monitored curfew from 7pm to 7am for four months and foot a £1,500 legal bill.

Detective Praises Victim’s Courage

“Philip Blanch is a predatory sexual offender who groomed and assaulted his young victim over a number of years,” said Detective Constable Fiona Clare, the lead investigator.

“The victim was a caddy at a local club and initially trusted Blanch, but Blanch took full advantage of that trust for his own gratification.

“I would like to commend the victim for his bravery in giving evidence and helping bring Blanch to justice.”
