Worsley Triple Murderers Locked Up for 77 Years
Zak Bolland and David Worrall from Worsley have been slammed with a combined 77-year jail sentence for the brutal murder of Michelle Pearson and her four children. The chilling fire that killed the youngsters left Michelle fighting for life in intensive care before she died in 2019.
Four Children Killed in Devastating House Fire
The tragedy unfolded on December 11, 2017, when a ferocious blaze tore through their home on Jackson Street, Walkden. Police arrived just before 5am to find the house ablaze. Eight-year-old Brandon, 15-year-old Demi, seven-year-old Lacie, and three-year-old Lia were caught in the inferno. Sadly, Lia succumbed to her injuries two days later in hospital.
Guilty Verdicts and Harsh Sentences
- Bolland received 40 years for the murders and attempted murder of Michelle, her 16-year-old son Kyle, and his friend.
- Worrall was handed 37 years for his part in the murders.
- Courtney Brierley, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter, was sentenced to 12 years.
All three appeared at Manchester Crown Square Court on Wednesday, April 21, 2021. The court heard harrowing details of the fire and the devastating loss.

“Michelle endured extensive treatment for her horrific injuries and was told about the deaths of four of her six children whilst in hospital. Sadly, she died on August 25, 2019.”
