Bonfire Blaze Almost Destroys Neighbouring Home
Firefighters battled hard to stop a bonfire fire from spreading and wrecking the house next door.
Fire Chief Issues Crucial Bonfire Warning
Station Manager Scott Meekings, the Incident Commander, said: “Firefighters have worked really hard to prevent this fire from spreading to and destroying the house next door.”
He urged the public to be extra cautious: “If you’re going to have a bonfire, please set it well away from sheds, fences, trees and bushes, as the wind can carry embers. Never leave bonfires unattended and make sure the embers have completely cooled before you leave.”
