Alleged Killer of Police Officer Julia James to Stand Trial Next May

Brutal Murder Rocks Dover

An alleged murderer accused of killing police community support officer Julia James is set to face trial next May, a court confirmed today.

Ms James, 53, was found with fatal head injuries near Akholt Wood, close to Dover in Kent, on 27 April.

Suspect Held in Broadmoor Hospital

Callum Wheeler, 21, appeared via videolink from Broadmoor Hospital, where he has been held since June.

The hearing took place on Tuesday, with Judge Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb remanding him in custody in the secure unit.

Pre-Trial Hearing Scheduled

The next pre-trial hearing is set for 17 January next year, with the full trial due in May.
