Police have arrested a 38-year-old man following a dramatic high-speed chase in Wiltshire. The suspect, originally from Surrey, is facing serious charges of attempted murder and rape after attempting to evade officers.

Armed police, sniffer dogs, and a police helicopter were deployed to a property in Durrington late on Friday night, 30 January. Bulford Road was sealed off as officers closed in during a tense and high-stakes operation.

In addition to the main suspect, a 73-year-old man from Durrington was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both men remain in police custody as investigations continue into Saturday morning.

The incident reportedly began in Surrey and ended in Wiltshire when the suspect made a desperate attempt to escape arrest. The chase prompted a swift and robust police response across county lines.
