Detectives are investigating after a 23-year-old man was charged with a series of sexual assaults and robberies targeting women in Camden, Islington, and the City of London on Sunday, 19 January 2025.
The suspect was arrested in the City of London at approximately 10:25 a.m. following an incident where two women were sexually assaulted over their clothing. CCTV footage and victim interviews subsequently linked him to nine other offences committed earlier that morning.
Between 6:30 a.m. and 10:25 a.m., ten women were reportedly targeted in offences including sexual assaults, attempted thefts, and a robbery involving a stolen handbag. The man was frequently seen riding a bicycle during these incidents.
Police have described the suspect as a Black man, approximately 5ft 11in tall, wearing a beanie hat and a dark grey coat.
The 23-year-old now faces multiple charges: six counts of sexual assault, two counts of common assault, one count of robbery, and one count of attempted theft.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 21 January, where he was remanded in custody. His next court hearing is scheduled for 12 February at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Detective Inspector Anna Deighton urged other victims to come forward, stating, “We are making urgent enquiries to identify any potentially related offences. If you have been a victim of sexual touching or robbery in Camden, Islington, or the City, please contact us. Support will be provided, and your information could help us build a more complete picture as we continue to tackle violence against women and girls in London.”

This operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the Metropolitan Police and City of London Police to protect women and girls from violent crime across the capital.
