Police were called to New City College on Little Ilford Road, Newham, following reports of a person allegedly flashing a firearm nearby. The incident occurred at approximately 2:35pm on Wednesday, 27 November, causing alarm among students, staff, and local residents.

Upon arrival, officers quickly questioned a group believed to be involved and conducted a thorough search of the area. Despite the initial reports, no weapon was found during the police investigation. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that no arrests were made in connection with the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said, “We were called at approximately 14:35hrs on Wednesday, 27 November, to reports of a person seen in possession of a firearm outside New City College on Little Ilford Road. Officers attended the scene, and conducted inquiries, and no weapons were recovered. No arrests were made.”

The incident caused concern within the college community and among nearby residents. However, police reassured the public that no threat was uncovered during their inquiries. Officers have committed to continuing patrols in the area to maintain peace of mind for the community.
