A serious crash involving two vehicles has caused major disruption on the M2 motorway near Blue Bell Hill. The incident occurred just before junction 3 for Chatham and Rochester.
One man was rushed to Medway Maritime Hospital following the collision. Emergency services arrived promptly at the scene shortly after 4:30pm, treating one casualty on site before transporting him for further medical care.
As a result of the crash, two lanes of the motorway have been closed, leading to significant congestion. National Highways confirmed that traffic officers are currently working to clear the wreckage, with tailbacks extending approximately 3.5 miles.
Drivers are experiencing delays of up to 30 minutes beyond normal travel times. Authorities have urged motorists to avoid the area if possible and to seek alternative routes while recovery efforts continue.
The cause of the collision and the full extent of injuries remain under investigation. The motorway remains partially blocked near junction 3, and traffic is expected to build as officials work to restore normal flow.
