A massive crash has shut all four lanes of the M25 clockwise at Junction 14, near the A3113 Airport Way, just before 5am today. The incident has caused significant disruption for drivers heading towards Heathrow Airport.
Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue, and South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to the scene. At this time, injuries have not yet been confirmed.
Motorists are facing a traffic nightmare, with tailbacks stretching back to Junction 13 (A30) near Staines. Heavy congestion is also spilling onto the A30 into the town, causing widespread delays. Drivers are strongly urged to avoid the area if possible.
National Highways has warned that the closure will remain in place until around 10:45am, with a full reopening expected shortly after. Current delays are approximately 40 minutes longer than usual.
To manage the situation, traffic is being diverted off and back onto the motorway via slip roads in an “up & over” closure. Commuters are advised to find alternative routes to avoid the jams and heavy delays.
