Police rushed to Droversdale Road, Bircotes, just before 1.30pm on Saturday 18 March after reports that a man had been knocked unconscious in a vicious assault.

The victim sustained head wounds requiring stitches and suffered a fractured cheekbone. Emergency services took him to hospital where he received treatment.

PC Jon Evans of Nottinghamshire Police said: “This was a nasty assault that resulted in a man suffering head injuries and needing to go to hospital. We’re carrying out CCTV checks and speaking to locals, but we need the public’s help.

“It happened when many people were likely nearby, so if you saw anything, please come forward. Thankfully, the injuries weren’t worse, but we are determined to find those responsible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 396 of 18 March 2023. You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
