At 5:45pm on Saturday 9 April, a man and woman boarded a train travelling from York to Kings Cross. When the train guard informed them that the train would not stop at any stations before Kings Cross, the couple became aggressive.

The pair swore and threatened the guard with violence, causing a disturbance on the otherwise quiet train. Their behaviour led to the train making an unscheduled stop at Retford station.

Upon the train’s sudden halt at Retford, the couple disembarked and quickly left the station, disappearing from the scene.

British Transport Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the individuals involved. If you recognise the couple, please contact British Transport Police immediately by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40. Quote reference 436 of 09/04/22.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
