A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in which a woman was reportedly set on fire in Blackbird Leys.
Emergency services were called to Balfour Road just after 10am today after reports of a fire. Upon arrival, a woman in her thirties was found with serious injuries and was immediately taken away by ambulance for medical treatment.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue along with South Central Ambulance Service attended the scene to provide urgent assistance. The exact cause of the woman’s injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Police have closed Balfour Road as they conduct a full investigation into the incident. The man arrested remains in custody while inquiries continue.
