Surrey’s A331 Blackwater Valley was closed after a six-car pile-up between Ash and Aldershot on Thursday evening. The crash occurred just before 8pm, causing significant disruption on this busy commuter route.

Firefighters from Fareham and Guildford attended the scene and used specialist cutting equipment to free a woman trapped inside one of the damaged vehicles. Surrey Police closed the road at around 8:30pm to allow emergency services to work safely.

The Surrey Air Ambulance landed at Aldershot Park to provide additional medical support alongside land ambulances, police officers, and the Hazardous Area Response Team. Several people received treatment at the scene, although details of their injuries have not been released.

A spokesperson for Surrey Fire and Rescue confirmed that multiple teams were deployed and are working closely with police and medical personnel. The area remains cordoned off as investigations and recovery efforts continue.

Authorities are advising motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes while the incident is being managed. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
