Tragedy struck on the A22 at Whyteleafe on Thursday night, 9 January, when a pedestrian was fatally hit in a hit-and-run incident. Officers were called to the scene at 10:11pm near the junction with Hillside Road.

The victim, a 30-year-old man from Warlingham, was found seriously injured but sadly died at the scene. His family have been informed of the tragic loss.

Police have now located the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident but continue their investigation to determine how the collision occurred. Authorities are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward to assist with the inquiry.
