On March 17, a chilling encounter took place near Eden Park roundabout in West Wickham. At approximately 5.30pm, a local mother revealed that her daughters were running through the area when they spotted a man wearing a motorbike helmet, with his face concealed by a scarf.

The man was reportedly carrying a large axe and began to approach the girls. Terrified, they ran to a nearby Co-op store and immediately called the police.

The mother then drove her daughters home and shortly afterwards noticed three police cars rushing past. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were dispatched to South Eden Park Road following the report of a man with a weapon.

Despite a thorough search of the area, no suspect or weapon was found. The spokesperson said, “Police were called on Friday, 17 March to a report of a man with a weapon on South Eden Park Road. Officers responded and searched the area, but nothing was discovered.”
