Police and emergency services responded to a violent midday brawl near Oakfield Road and Walton Breck Road in Anfield on Thursday at 12:45pm. During the disturbance, a man sustained a stab wound to the face and was rushed to the hospital.

Five men, aged 19 and 20, were arrested at the scene and are now held in custody, facing serious charges.

The suspects, who have travelled from Buckinghamshire, Wigan, and Galway, face charges including Section 18 wounding with intent, affray, and possession of a bladed weapon. Police made swift arrests to prevent further violence.

In response, police have enforced two new crime prevention orders across Anfield. These orders grant officers enhanced stop-and-search powers and the authority to disperse large groups, aiming to prevent any more flare-ups this evening.

Residents of Anfield should expect a strong police presence throughout the night while investigations continue. Detectives have urged anyone who witnessed the fight or has dashcam or mobile footage to contact authorities immediately.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or report anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111 or the Crimestoppers website.
