More than 250 police officers have descended on Stockbridge Village and Huyton today as part of a large-scale operation named Operation Vanguard. Residents can expect to see streets flooded with police patrols and vehicles as officers take decisive action against local crime.
Operation Vanguard is designed to send a clear message that criminal activity will not be tolerated in Knowsley. A force spokesperson said, “We know most people in Knowsley are decent, working hard, and want peace. But their lives are ruined by criminals involved in drug supply, serious violence, retail crime, robbery, and organised crime.”
The operation includes multiple coordinated efforts:
- Execution of 16 warrants early this morning
- Land and underwater searches currently underway
- Roadside checks conducted by the Roads Policing Team
- Protection of vulnerable victims from exploiters
- Community reassurance visits to ease public concerns
- County Lines squads targeting drug gangs
- Patrols supported by firearms units, police dogs, mounted police, and elite Matrix teams
- North West Regional Organised Crime Unit pursuing serious offenders
This comprehensive crackdown targets suspects wanted for domestic abuse, serious violence, fraud, and neighbourhood crime. Police have vowed to maintain safety on the streets and bring offenders to justice consistently.
