Two 53-year-old men are to appear in court, accused of robbing an elderly man of his shopping in Ashford.

It was reported that a man in his 70s was robbed while walking down Taylor’s Passage, by the High Street, at around 2.45pm on Monday 6 April 2020.

The victim’s bag, containing a bank card and groceries, was stolen from him during the robbery.

The victim also reported a quantity of money missing from his bank account after the incident.

Peter Goldfinch, of Bushy Royds, Ashford, and John Henderson, of no fixed address, were arrested and each charged with one count of robbery on Tuesday 7 April.

The two men remain in custody and are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court via virtual link on Wednesday 8 April.
