Information is sought following a report of doorstep traders demanding money from an elderly man in Cliffe Woods

Between 10.15am and 10.45am on Wednesday 9 December 2020, two men are said to have approached the victim at a property in Milton Avenue before demanding payment for work they claimed to have done on a tree in his garden.


No work ever took place and the victim had not requested, or consented to, any. 


The suspects, who agreed to leave when a quantity of cash was exchanged, are both white.


The first is described as being in 40s, with a slim build, and was wearing a dark shirt. The second is said to be in 20s and was wearing a plain T shirt.


Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers would like to hear from anyone who has information that is yet to get in contact.
