Two people have been arrested and a stolen mobile phone recovered by police minutes after a man was alleged to have been assaulted in Chatham

On 21 March officers from Medway’s Community Policing Team responded to a call where two people were seen to assault another man in Chatham High Street.

The disturbance was reported to Kent Police at around 1.25pm and two suspects, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of robbery by 1.50pm.

During the arrest the victim’s mobile phone was also found.

The two suspects have since been bailed until 14 April while police continue their enquiries.
