Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a kitchen fire in a commercial property on the High Street in Gillingham

Three fire engines were sent to the scene and crews arrived to smoke and flames issuing from the ground floor kitchen, towards the rear of the building. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, before ventilating the property. No casualties were reported, and the cause has not yet been confirmed.
