Four charges have been authorised against a Rochester man following an assault inside a convenience store



Michael Terry is alleged to have assaulted a man, who is known to him, at the Tesco Express in Frindsbury Road, Strood, at around 6.50pm on Saturday 16 January 2021.


The victim, a man in his 40s, sustained a facial injury which required treatment at a local hospital.


Mr Terry, who is additionally alleged to have assaulted a woman inside the shop, has been charged with grievous bodily harm and assault.


He is also charged with an assault committed against the same man in May 2020, and harassing him between May 2020 and January 2021.


The 38-year-old, of King Arthur’s Drive, was remanded in custody to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 19 January. At the hearing, he was further remanded in custody and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday 16 February.
