The family of 18-year-old Courtney Jennings have been left devastated after she was killed in a horror road smash on Perham Down Road, Tidworth, late Friday night (29/10).

Family Mourns Bright Young Soldier

Courtney’s family paid tribute to her infectious laugh and determination to join the army. They said:

β€œCourtney lost her life far too soon. No parent should ever face this pain. But through our heartache, the memories of our daughter will keep our hearts bright.” β€œShe decided at just 14 that she wanted to join the Army, and with sheer determination, she left home at 16 to start training at Harrogate Foundation College. Courtney made herself and everyone around her proud.” β€œShe was selfless, kind-hearted, and so close to her family. Her smile and laugh were infectious – once she started laughing, you couldn’t help but join in.” β€œShe was determined, sometimes stubborn, but always saw the bigger picture. Meeting Jack made her the happiest we’d ever seen her. Jack looked after her, which was a comfort to us.” β€œWe spoke to her on FaceTime just before the crash. She was beaming about their plans to celebrate Halloween at a nightclub. Her costume took weeks to prepare. Tragically, she never made it.” β€œWe were so looking forward to her sending us pictures from the night. She sent us photos before they left – she looked beautiful. We will forever hold these in our hearts.” β€œWe cannot believe we will never hear her voice or hug her again. It is absolutely tragic. We will forever miss our angel.”

Two others in the car were taken to hospital. A 27-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition.
