A 22-year-old drug dealer from Bedminster was caught after police discovered a stash of crack cocaine and heroin concealed in his underwear during a stop-and-search operation in Swindon.
Jaredel Comrie, from St Johns Lane, had already admitted to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. He also pleaded guilty to cannabis possession and breaching a criminal behaviour order, the court heard.
On November 25, Swindon Crown Court sentenced him to five years and six months behind bars.
Comrie was stopped on October 11 in Beckhampton Street, Swindon. He attempted to avoid arrest by providing two fake names, including one belonging to a wanted man from Bristol, which immediately raised suspicion.
An initial search found cannabis and cash, but the full quantity of drugs was only uncovered later at the police station. Officers discovered 46 wraps of class A drugs—crack cocaine and heroin—hidden in his underwear, along with his phone.
The messages on Comrie’s phone revealed his key role in operating the drug supply chain around Swindon.
PC Lauren Vincent said: “Comrie had 46 wraps of class A drugs hidden in his pants and a phone he used to facilitate supply in Swindon. We’re glad to have busted this chain and prevented these dangerous drugs reaching vulnerable users.”
