Emergency services sprang into action tonight after two people got stuck fast in the thick mud of Langstone Harbour.

Firefighters and Coastguards Launch Daring Rescue

Fire crews from Hampshire Fire and Rescue, alongside water rescue units, joined forces with coastguard teams from Portsmouth and Selsey to save the stranded pair. A member of the public spotted the victims in trouble and quickly raised the alarm, triggering the swift response.

Life-Saving Tactics Unleashed

Rescuers wearing dry suits and life jackets secured a safety line to the trapped duo. Using a hose reel fitted with a fog spike, they carefully eased the mud’s grip, freeing the victims without causing harm.

The South Central Ambulance’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) was on standby and took over care once the pair were freed.
