Shotgun Found After Abandoned Cars Spark Drug Probe in Dagenham

Police swooped on two deserted vehicles spotted on Burdett’s Road, Dagenham, at 5.39pm on Tuesday, 15 September. A search revealed a suspected sawn-off shotgun, class A drugs, and mobile phones thought to be linked to drug dealing.

No Arrests Yet as Investigation Gears Up

Despite the haul, no arrests have been made so far. Detectives from the East Area Command Unit are digging deeper into the case. Detective Inspector Dean Grafton said:

“Myself and my officers are committed to bearing down on violent crime. We are now conducting various enquiries to see if the vehicle and firearm tie into other incidents.”

New Recruits Make Their Mark Against Crime

The officers who found the weapons are probationers, proving that even new recruits are hitting the ground running to clear drugs and guns from local streets.

“Anyone with information that could assist us is urged to call police,” DI Grafton added. “It’s crucial that the community and officers work hand in hand to tackle violent crime and remove offenders.”
