Midnight Van Thief Nabbed in Southampton

Police caught a man red-handed after a late-night theft from a vehicle in Southampton. Just after 11pm on Wednesday, 19 May, officers were called to King Georges Avenue. They found a man fast asleep inside a van that wasn’t his.

Stolen Goods Discovered: Sat-Navs and Tools

Officers woke the man and searched his rucksack. Inside, they found two sat navs, a pair of pliers, and gloves. One sat nav has been returned to its owner, but police want to track down the other rightful owner.

Suspect Held in Custody

A 47-year-old Southampton man has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools. He remains in police custody as investigations continue.
