A huge emergency search was launched in Buckinghamshire after reports of a child entering the Jubilee River in Taplow on Friday evening.

Shortly after 5.30pm, Thames Valley Police and emergency crews rushed to Amerden Lane following urgent calls from concerned locals. A man bravely plunged into the water to save the boy before rescuers arrived, but tragically failed to locate him.
Boy’s Body Found After Lengthy Search
Despite the rapid response, the teen’s body was recovered from the river just before 6.40pm. Police confirmed the death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious. Next of kin have been informed, though official ID is still pending.

“This is a complete tragedy,” said Superintendent Emma Burroughs, local policing area commander. “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who has died as a result of this incident.”
