On Friday night, police were out in force in Calverton, dispersing groups loitering around shops to nip antisocial behaviour in the bud. Early intervention patrols also swept through licensed venues in Arnold and Mapperley Top.
The officers teamed up with door staff to carry out licensing checks while maintaining a strong visible presence. One woman was arrested for being drunk and disorderly on Arnold’s busy Front Street.

Neighbourhood Policing Week Shines Spotlight on Local Officers
The intensive patrols were part of a nationwide Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action, wrapping up on Sunday 29 January 2023. Nottinghamshire used the event to highlight the daily efforts police make to keep residents and businesses safe.
“Our officers work extremely hard every day not only to keep their communities safe, but also to positively engage with and support our residents and businesses,” said Stu Howe, neighbourhood policing sergeant for Gedling North.
“The week of action gave us the perfect chance to show the public how we protect people from harm and tackle crime on our streets.”
