Chaos erupted at a packed venue as crowds surged just before midnight. Around 11.45pm, hundreds swarmed a venue already bursting at the seams, desperate to get in but refused entry.
Police Called In to Tackle Crowded Chaos
The venue urgently called police after realising they had hit capacity. Guests refused to leave, forcing officers to step in and take control of the situation.
Roads Shut as Tensions Flare
Burton Street and South Sherwood Street were slammed shut for about an hour while police worked to calm the scene and ease crowd congestion.
Three Arrested Amid Disorder
- One person booked for being drunk and disorderly
- Another for possession of a Class B drug
- And a third caught carrying an offensive weapon
Thankfully, no members of the public were injured during the mayhem.
