Massive Blaze Erupts at Renovation Site

Firefighters from Widnes, Frodsham, Penketh, Runcorn, and a water bowser from Ellesmere Port rushed to a building engulfed in flames during renovations. Arriving crews were met with thick smoke and fierce fire, sparking a rapid, full-scale response.

Smoke Warning as Firefighters Battle Blaze

Firefighters, decked out in breathing apparatus, blasted the inferno with main jets and hose reels to bring it under control. Locals have been warned to keep windows and doors shut to avoid the choking smoke. Authorities also urged the public to steer clear of the area to let crews work unhindered.

Firefighters Make Steady Progress Overnight

By 7:45pm, the fire was largely tamed, allowing crews to scale back to three fire engines. Experts stayed on through the night, dousing hotspots and taking temperature checks to stop the flames from flaring up again. A dedicated team will continue monitoring the site around the clock.

Fire Out, Investigation Underway

At 11:25am the next day, the fire was fully extinguished with no hotspots remaining. Control of the scene has now been handed over to the site owners. Fire chiefs believe the blaze was started deliberately and have launched a full investigation to track down the culprits.

Residents are urged to stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour to police to help stop future incidents.
